Hare Construction and Consulting is an independently owned, Veteran-operated and California state licensed business (CSLB #1096028). Owner Andrew (Drew) Hare prides himself on offering his clients personalized service with a commitment to quality and care on every job.

 

Drew is not your average general contractor. With nearly 20 years of service as a military officer, eight years of experience in corporate sales and project management, and two master’s degrees, Drew couples his background, education and experience with his drive for excellence to provide customers with a differentiated level of service marked by clear, transparent communication, deep principles, an attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

 

Drew will be onsite doing much of the work for his client’s projects on his own and draws on the expertise of trusted subcontractors for specialized work when needed. He loves problem-solving with his clients and helping them achieve their goals. From start to finish, he focuses on the details, and every step of the way, he keeps his clients well-informed of the project.

 

“Communication is key,” says Drew. “A remodeling or construction project is a big endeavor and customers are putting a lot of trust in their contractors on something that can often be very daunting. I want to put them at ease and give them confidence that I will treat their project as if it was for my own home and I will always be up front and honest with them. There should be no surprises during any project.” 

 

Hare Construction and Consulting specializes in residential and business remodeling projects primarily in the San Diego north county area.

Drew was born and raised in small-town Pennsylvania and spent his college summers working on a framing crew with a local builder. Little did he know then that two decades later he would be owning and operating his own home remodeling and construction business – those early days gave him a first look at the industry.

 

After being commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps as an officer, Drew spent eight years in active duty service with assignments on the west coast, Virginia, and three deployments to the Middle East. During his active duty years, he completed his first master’s degree in strategic intelligence and multiple military leadership courses. Now a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, Drew looks forward to opportunities to mentor younger Marines.

 

Over the last decade, Drew homed in on his passion for building and woodworking as a hobby while at the same time working as a regional sales manager within the data center industry. In this role, he managed large-scale power distribution build projects for major clients like Microsoft and Facebook as they expanded their data centers across the western region. After some time, Drew realized that his hobby brought him more joy than his corporate role and he began to think through how he could focus more in that area.

 

After completing an Executive MBA program at UC-Irvine, Drew realized he had the formula and foundation for a new venture. His business acumen plus his military leadership experience and project management background coupled with his passion for building and the fine details of woodworking, set the stage for Hare Construction and Consulting. 

 

Drew also had experience as an owner-builder, managing the almost complete tear-down and remodel of his own residence – a 1925 Spanish-revival property in coastal San Diego county. It was during this process that Drew saw the opportunity areas within the residential building and remodeling industry. With his own experiences, and hearing from friends and associates on the frequent challenges they faced with their own remodeling projects, Drew was committed to offering his clients a different level of service. Through Hare Construction and Consulting, Drew is now able to provide homeowners with a superior level of care, quality and detail-orientation, doing what he loves while bringing his clients’ dreams to life.
